Oda Bultum University signed a bilateral agreement with Chercher Oda Bultum Farmers’ Cooperative Union and Chercher Polytechnic College on January 2, 2026, aimed at enhancing agricultural and vocational innovations through academic knowledge.
The agreements aim to leverage academic knowledge and practical training to drive agricultural and vocational innovations, addressing socio-economic issues through collaborative research and knowledge sharing. Key objectives include improving education quality with joint teaching initiatives, providing practical training and internships for staff and students, fostering community engagement via innovative solutions, establishing technology villages, and enhancing outreach through resource networks and advocacy for national development initiatives.
Professor Muktar Mohammed, OBU President, opened the event by emphasizing that the Memorandum of Understanding focuses on enhancing the dissemination speed up of productive technologies in the community. He underscored the responsibility of all parties to generate and adapt innovative technologies, demonstrate effective innovations, and replicate new prototypic technologies for community use.
He emphasized that organizations are expected to contribute significantly to improving the community’s livelihood, noting OBU’s commitment to collaborating with these organizations to strengthen existing ties.
Mr. Kedir Abadir, dean of Chercher Polytechnic College, and Mr. Jemal Mohammed, head of Chercher Oda Bultum Farmers’ Cooperative Union, demonstrated their interest in collaborating with the university on research, internships, and community outreach programs, as well as seeking professional support in various disciplines.
Finally, Professor Muktar Mohammed-OBU President signed an agreement with Mr. Jemal Mohammed, head of Chercher Oda Bultum Farmers’ Cooperative Union, and Kedir Abadir, dean of Chercher Polytechnic College, representing their institutions.
