Oda Bultum University Delivers Capacity Building Training for West Hararge Zone Secondary School Teachers on Contemporary Teaching Methods

OBU College of Social Science and Humanities in collaboration with Community Service directorate office has delivered capacity building training for West Hararge Zone selected secondary schools teachers on contemporary teaching methods on 20 Apr. 2024.

The focus areas of the training were contemporary teaching methods from pedagogical and psychological perspective’s, and teachers’ professional ethics.

The objective of the training is to empower and inspire trainees to achieve the desired goal concerning quality education by providing them capacity building training. About 40 trainees selected from different secondary schools across the zone were actively participated.

At the commencement of the program, Assistant Prof. Temesgen Terefe, OBU Community Service directorate director, said that education is an important foundation for economic growth and is vital instrument in the attainment of other development objectives if and only if its quality is assured. That is why OBU is working cooperatively and tirelessly with concerned bodies in providing necessary logistics, soft skill trainings and other supportive activities for teachers and others to ensure quality education he added.

Subsequently the training was provided by senior professionals aiming to enhance teacher’s capacity on contemporary teaching methods and teacher’s professional ethics to lift up quality education.

Finally discussion was held in the presence of Awal Abdela, West Hararge Zone Education office head and the participants forwarded their questions, comments and suggestions based on the points raised from the stage, and lastly the training was concluded by indicating the way forward.
