OBU Women and Inclusive Social Affairs Executive Office, in collaboration with Academic, Research, Technology Transfer and Community Service Vice President Office, has organized capacity building training for female instructors on leadership from 19 -20 April 2024.
The training is intended to empower female instructors to play a part in the provision of service delivery expected from professionals across the university and beyond. About 30 female instructors from different departments across the university are among those taking a part in the training.
Mrs. Zimita Kidane, OBU Women and Inclusive Social Affairs Executive Office director, in her welcoming speech, stated that equipping female’s instructors with such soft skills training is to empower females in playing a vital roles for the well-being of institution and country’s development.
Mr. Kedir Lugo, OBU president office head during the opening ceremony stressed that, empowering females in the areas of leadership and increasing their participation in every development tasks will open a lots of opportunities for the institution and bring gender equality and good governance advancements for the country.
Lastly, the trainees reflected their comments and suggested that, such leadership training will continue since it uplifts problem solving skills to overcome challenges during leadership and improve the communication skills and confidence while service provision.
