Oda Bultum University, ICT executive Office in collaboration with ARTTCS Vice President Office organized a training for about 45 department heads on E-Learning Initiative to enhance higher education.
On the commencement of the event, Professor Muktar Mohammed, President of Oda Bultum University, emphasized the significance of the training in fostering the institutionalization and revolutionization of e-learning initiative within the university to ensure accessible quality education through online teaching technology.
Professor Muktar added that the training marks a crucial and timelines role in enhancing the quality and reach of e-Learning across all disciplines and faculties, and this training is a step towards enhancing digital education across the university.
According to Professor Muktar, The training intends to strengthen the capacities of academic staffs of the university to deliver online education and to boost the relevance, quality, access, and resilience of higher education in Ethiopia in general and OBU in particular.
He has also highlighted the strategic importance of the training that the integration of advanced digital tools in our educational framework is about ensuring our students receive an education that prepares them for a rapidly evolving world.
The training is focused on online teaching training for e-learning project and strengthening Higher Education System (HES) through utilization of digital technology. To improve the quality of education and its accessibility, digitalized and online teaching-learning platform is one of the Reform Strategies of the MoE- Ethiopia and OBU as well. This step shows OBU shared its own journey in institutionalizing e-learning initiatives.
The agenda for the training was filled with insightful presentations, providing a comprehensive overview of e-SHE’s progress, and the ambitious future plans of Higher Education Institutions and OBU as well.
