OBU College of Natural Resource and Environmental Science has conducted internal curriculum review workshop to launch post graduate programs, MSc. in Global Change Ecology & Ecosystem, and Sustainable Land & Environmental Management.
OBU in collaboration with Institute of Applied Ecology, Chinas Academy of Science aims to launching these new postgraduate programs as part of operationalizing the memorandum of understanding signed in the last year.
During the welcoming speech, Mr. Hussen Yusuf, OBU College of Natural Resource and Environmental Science Dean said curriculum review is a crucial activity in academic programs for the purpose of enhancing education quality and producing market oriented graduates. The two postgraduate programs presented on the internal curriculum review workshop are designed based on global need assessment analysis, he added.
In his welcoming speech, Professor Muktar Mohammed, OBU President, said that curriculum review is a proactive stride toward educational innovation of OBU as a higher learning institution. Professor Muktar stated that, this dynamic curriculum review workshop, which is the outcome of international cooperation of our university, is aimed at aligning the education curriculum with the contemporary paradigm of our world’s demand-driven approach.
Finally, he expressed his gratitude to the program preparation team, the reviewers, and the workshop participants for their support in providing constructive comments and suggestions that they would forward to shape the content, pedagogy, and structure of the curricula.
Participants engaged in discussions to weave authentic, hands-on experiences into the fabric of the curriculum. The curriculum review workshop marks a transformative milestone for our University in proactively operationalizing memorandums of understanding signed between OBU and International institutions. This commitment underscores OBU’s dedication to providing a cutting-edge education that will prepare academicians to excel in an ever-changing global need landscape.
