OBU has provided employability and job readiness training for prospective graduates of undergraduate program to provide them with an opportunity to interface with employers as they network to secure employment positions after their graduation.
About 883 2024/25 graduate class students, from different colleges, institutes and school, have actively participated on the training in different sessions.
Entrepreneurship, job searching process, employability skills, self-awareness and how to present themselves to potential employers are some of the topics that the training has shed its light on.
The director of the OBU Academic Program and Staff Development Directorate, assistant professor Getachew Gashew, stressed that training is essential to tackling Ethiopia’s graduate unemployment issues.
The goal of the training is to provide prospective graduates with the tools they need to network with other experts in their fields of studies, search employment, and interview for right positions based on the necessary skills and job market. OBU collaborates with Dereja.com to provide prospective graduates with necessary job market skills and creates a platform to connect with recruiters.
