President’s message

Welcome to Oda Bultum University’s website.

I am pleased to invite you to explore Oda Bultum University’s website for diverse academic programs, groundbreaking research initiatives, and glimpse of campus life. The university is responsible for ensuring academic excellence, research quality, community engagement, and enhancing student life, which has deepened my respect for its culture and tradition.

The university is differentiated into a comprehensive university aimed at producing ethical and qualified graduates, engaging in problem-solving research, and offering community services. Its motto, “Productive Mind for Development,” reflects its 10-year strategic plan to be a recognized university in Eastern Africa by 2030, focusing on social development, natural resource conservation, technology transfer, and agro-processing.

Oda Bultum University views education as a key driver of personal and societal change, emphasizing academic excellence, innovative research, and community involvement. The university fosters an inclusive environment that celebrates diversity, nurtures curiosity, and empowers students to engage in critical thinking and bold leadership.

Our focus for the future is to deliver a top-tier educational experience that equips graduates to tackle complex challenges in a changing world. With advanced facilities, innovative academic programs, and a dynamic campus life, we provide more than a degree; we foster a collaborative environment for growth and innovation.

As stated in our motto, we aim to educate students to lead fulfilling lives through intellectual and moral growth by cultivating the right habits. A crucial step towards success in any endeavor is developing a productivity mindset, which distinguishes effective work from merely having skills. Many skilled individuals struggle with productivity, often taking longer to produce quality work. Productivity involves both efficiency and effectiveness, necessitating attention to mental health and personal limits. Our primary focus is fostering this productivity mindset among graduates to empower them to address societal challenges.

Again I welcome you to our digital campus community, where prospective students, current scholars, dedicated faculty or staff, and proud alumni come together.

Muktar Mohammed Yusuf (Professor)
