The Ministry of Education’s Higher Education Development Sector Supervision Team visited Oda Bultum University (OBU) from April 15–18, 2025, to monitor and support all operations within the institution as part of the KPI implementation that the university and the Ministry had agreed upon.
Professor Muktar Mohammed, OBU President, warmly welcomed the team and expressed his deepest gratitude for their supervision on KPI implementations and all-rounded performances of the university highlighting that the supervision fuels up the university’s’ endeavors in a better speed.
At the entry meeting, Mr. Kebede Gizaw, the coordinator of the supervision team, explained the purpose of the supervision: to determine the degree of implementation attained by establishing understandings with the institution’s stakeholders and community, and to point out the way forward to accomplish the agreed goals more effectively.
In attendance, college deans, academic directors, executives, coordinators, department heads, team leaders, instructors, practitioners, and students were engaged in further discussions regarding the implementation of KPIs across the university.
During the observation period, office structure, performance documentation, research center, farming, library, laboratory, clinic, dorm, cafeteria, construction project, work shop, and other infrastructure were the main elements of the field visit that were observed by the team.
At the exit meeting, the supervisory team expressed gratitude for the university’s dedication to adopting KPI and its operational level. The team also thanked the university’s management for their cooperation regarding over all university activities, and to the faculty and practitioners for embracing the university’s vision and mission to carry it out more effectively while making efficient use of the resources at hand.
Finally, professor Muktar has expressed his admiration to the Ministry of Education’s commitment and the team’s effort to try to show the limitation regarding implementation of KPI at OBU accordingly and requested the team to follow-up and support the university in a continues manner.
