OBU Academic Program and Staff Development Directorate, alongside with the Office of the Academic, Research, Technology Transfer and Community Service Vice President, conducted a four-day long induction training for newly recruited academic staff members.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

This training program aims to provide new academic staff with essential knowledge and skills for effective teaching learning in higher education.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Assistant Professor Getachew Gashaw, OBU Academic Program and Staff Development Directorate Director welcomed the trainees with an opening remark highlighting continues professional development. He stated that induction training signifies the start of their professional journey towards the institution’s best achievements.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The primary goals of the training were to raise awareness of theoretical foundations of teaching and learning, share practical experiences from experienced instructors, enhance teaching knowledge and skills, and familiarize trainees with the University\u2019s vision and mission. The training specifically aims to address roles and responsibilities of HEI teachers, active learning methods, classroom management and instructional materials, and assessment and evaluation strategies in learning.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Designed to enhance professional development, the program offers guidance for instructors in planning and executing educational strategies, featuring targeted training to refine pedagogical methods and foster engaging learning environments.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Participants reflected that the training improved their capacity to transfer knowledge and skills to students, thereby enhancing their pedagogical practices to produce qualified citizens.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
